John, just found your channel based on looking for conventions all throughout WA. Mostly an arcade game collector but might expand NES. I see you like Bagman as well. I have a restored one and a SuperBagman that doesn't need restoring. Love those games. Great Channel!

I'd have to put that Comix Zone logo as #1. To this day a lot of times when I'm checking the level on a mic before recording, if happen to say "test, 1, 2", it will definitely be followed by "🎶Seeega". And Vectorman is at least in top 5, especially considering you can control him, interact with the logo AND even find a hidden TV to make the logo "go boom".

Nostalgia is expensive! Why in the world would anyone pay $1500 for an old game? Must be nice to have money to burn like that. Even if I was a millionaire, I just can't see myself paying so much for video games.

There are great games on the SNES and I recently played though all of the original final fantasy they are timeless classics and I've beat all of the original Zelda's.

My parents usually shopped on the clearance aisle. Im glad they never bought me this. But on the other hand they did buy the sega activator an equally useless piece of crap. 😢

I think it would be cool to look at the 4 star games too. Some would deserve a 5th star. Some should have just 3... There should be quite a few of those, though.

The jump game reminds me of Super Star Wars speeder levels just pick a game. I think the ones in ROTJ where the harder ones.

Actually the Capcom games early in Genesis were reprogrammed by and licensed to Sega cause Nintendo exclusive crap back then

Sega themselves did Forgotten Worlds, Ghouls N Ghost, Mercs, and Strider on Genesis if I'm not mistaken. US Gold did Strider Returns.

Even if you're not a sports guy, you have to have NBA Jam TE on this list. That game was SO much fun.

Enjoyed The Punisher in the arcade, on the Genesis not so much. Although imo Captain America and The Avengers and Spider-Man: The Arcade Game are better Beat 'em ups.

The Super NES era was magical and felt so ‘next-gen.’

if you run into the towers on the level, you get armor and a gun to shoot things on 3d world runner

Thanks Riggs for the video!! Here are some games i would have loved to see ported to Genesis; 1941, U.N. Squadron, and a non-Capcom fav, Aero fighters (Sonic Wings) would have been cool. If anyone out there with programming skills could do a port of either of these i would be very greatful. At least we now have Final Fight for Genesis!

Blades of Steel did voice its title, so it is possible, it just usually didn’t sound this good. For reference, on the Genesis, the “Sega” boot up sound effect in Sonic 1 took up 1/8th of the entire cartridge.

One of the timeless ones i remember is my brother and my 2 cousins always played in the same teeball and baseball teams. And after every weekend game our parents would take us to Manzettis (the local pizza restaurant) and they had Mrs. Pacman. We would always try to beat the high score and never found out who had the high score. One kid we saw was in 3rd once. Best pizza too! Still get it sometimes.

Great list, but I would've given Saturday Night Slam Masters a "C" because it lacked the tag team mode that the arcade and SNES versions had. The Death Match option was nice, but I would've traded that for a 4 player beatdown every time.

While you are right about not haveing console loyalty, it wasn't just a matter of affording both. I mean, I could have gotten a Genesis, but then I would have had to split my games budget AND the time I have to play those games too. Like today, I realyl only have nintendo systems and a gaming PC. I could get a PS5, but my backlog is long enough with just what I have. I just can't possibly add more bandwidth.

I agree with some of your ratings and not so much with others, but one thing I think we would all agree and that’s Konami and Capcom were top notch developers back in the SNES era, both companies had an excellent roster of excellent games for not only the SNES but the Genesis as well.

Forgotten Worlds, rated lower than Strider II and The Punisher? Doubtful! There are some unofficial Genesis versions of popular Capcom games in the works, including Goof Troop, Mega Man X, and Final Fight. What I wanna see is Super NES Aladdin ported to Genesis... wouldn't that be a mind-screw?

Strider ii on genesis isn’t really an official capcom game. It was developed by the terrible developer tiertex and published by usgold. The real strider ii released on ps1 and arcade. How and why capcom permitted this is beyond me, must have been the $$$
